The Challenge: Before Intelegain

Wonderchef, the premium culinary brand co-founded by Chef Sanjeev Kapoor, manages a complex supply chain, vast retail distribution networks, and a massive e-commerce operation. As they accelerated their digital transformation by migrating critical applications to Microsoft Azure, a major connectivity hurdle emerged.

Their corporate headquarters and local data centers needed to communicate with the Azure cloud constantly. Relying on standard public internet connections for this data flow posed unacceptable security risks and unpredictable latency. Furthermore, their growing remote workforce struggled to securely access cloud-hosted internal applications without compromising corporate compliance standards.

Implementation: The Intelegain Approach

Intelegain designed a comprehensive hybrid networking strategy to lock down Wonderchef's data flow.The approach centered on deploying an Azure Virtual Network Gateway to act as the secure bridge between environments.

Phase 1: Virtual Network Gateway Deployment

Intelegain architects designed the Azure Virtual Network topology and deployed the Azure Virtual Network Gateway. This served as the critical encrypted endpoint on the cloud side, capable of handling high-bandwidth traffic while enforcing stringent security protocols.

Phase 2: Site-to-Site (S2S) VPN Configuration

An IPsec/IKE VPN tunnel was established between Wonderchef's on-premises VPN device and the Azure Gateway. This Site-to-Site connection effectively merged the local network with the cloud network, allowing secure, uninterrupted bulk data transfers without exposing traffic to the public internet.

Phase 3: Point-to-Site (P2S) VPN for Remote Access

To support Wonderchef's remote workforce, Intelegain configured a Point-to-Site VPN connection on the Gateway. Using certificate-based authentication, authorized employees could securely tunnel into the Azure network from their individual laptops, regardless of their physical location.
